Blood Orange Mimosa ?

Orange Mimosa

Blood Orange Mimosa ?

Who doesn’t love a mimosa to go with a fabulous Sunday brunch?!! And while regular orange juice is lovely, why not add some unique bling and glam-it-up a bit with fresh squeezed blood orange juice? The deep rose-red color makes a regular champagne glass look like an Oscar-worthy celebration…

Cheers to all of our Le Voov foodies!

Serves 4

Ingredients
  • 5 – 8 Fresh blood oranges (make sure they are firm, but not rock hard)
  • Quality Champagne or sparkling wine of your choice

Le Voov! Side Note: I caution you not to use super-cheap bubbles because it will cause your guests to have a headache which is not being a responsible, classy host…

  • 4 large, ripe, sweet strawberries for garnish on side of glass
Preparations

Use juicer to extract juice from blood oranges. We use the Cuisinart Pulp Control Citrus Juicer available through our Amazon Store (please see Product Review section) or use a hand squeezer. Fill 1/3 of glass with blood orange juice and pulp, then add quality champagne/sparkling wine to each glass slowly to avoid foam running up over the edge of the glass. Fill glasses to ¾ full, add strawberry as a sidecar on rim of glass and serve.

A Note of Caution: Blood orange juice can stain cutting boards, linens, white Easter dresses, you get the idea. So use caution when juicing and wear an apron just to be safe. 🙂
